INDNIX Proposes Mega-Fab to West Bengal State Government
Following high-level meetings, INDNIX Technology Limited has officially submitted a comprehensive proposal to the Department of Information Technology & Electronics (IT&E) and WBHIDCO, outlining the critical requirements for our $1.5B USD mega-fab at the Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub.
Subject: Formal Proposal & Clearances Required – INDNIX Integrated Semiconductor & Assembly Complex
To: The Principal Secretary, Department of Information Technology & Electronics (IT&E) | The Managing Director, WBHIDCO | Government of West Bengal
Respected Sir/Madam,
I extend my sincere gratitude on behalf of the Board of INDNIX Technology Limited for the time and valuable insights shared by you and the esteemed state officials during our meeting today.
As discussed, INDNIX is proposing the establishment of a state-of-the-art Integrated Semiconductor & Assembly Complex in West Bengal. This multi-division mega-project will feature a 45nm–180nm Silicon Foundry, a dedicated Compound Semiconductor/MEMS fab, and an advanced PCBA/SMT manufacturing line. By bridging raw wafer fabrication with finished hardware assembly, this project aims to position West Bengal as a premier destination in the global electronic value chain, creating substantial high-skilled employment.
We kindly request you to forward these specific queries to the concerned departments for their evaluation and actionable assurances:
1. Land Allocation & Zoning (For WBHIDCO & IT&E Department)
- Contiguous Land Allocation: The project requires a strictly isolated, contiguous land parcel of 40 to 50 acres within the Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub (New Town) under an expedited 99-year lease.
- SEZ / EOU Designation: Can this specific parcel be granted Special Economic Zone (SEZ) or Export Oriented Unit (EOU) status to facilitate duty-free import of critical fab equipment?
2. Core Utilities & Infrastructure (For WBSETCL, WBPCB & Municipal Authorities)
- Dedicated Power Infrastructure: The fab requires a continuous, uninterrupted load of 80 MW to 120 MW. We request the state to guarantee a dual-feed Extra High Voltage (132kV or 220kV) transmission line directly to our captive substation.
- Water Supply Guarantee: The facility will require 2 to 4 million gallons of water daily to feed our Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) plants.
3. Financial Subsidies & State Support (For Finance, Commerce & Industry)
- State Top-Up Subsidies: Under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the Central Government provides 50% pari-passu CapEx support. What additional capital subsidies, SGST reimbursement limits, or stamp duty waivers will the West Bengal Government offer as a 'top-up'?
4. High-Security Cover (For Home Department)
- Due to the sensitive nature of the technology, we intend to formally request Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deployment for the operational facility.
Sincerely,
Soham Biswas
Managing Director
